Building Maintenance Helper

Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Building Maintenance Helper . This position plays a vital role in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and in working order. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in cleaning, window washing, floor scrubbing, and general upkeep of buildings
• Check boilers to ensure correct operation
• Perform minor carpentry work (e.g., furniture repair)
• Prepare surfaces and assist with interior painting
• Maintain grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming shrubs
• Replace light bulbs and fuses
• Clean lavatories and polish metal fixtures
• Assist with snow and ice removal
• Maintain tools and mechanical equipment
• May operate light vehicles and maintenance equipment

Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year of experience in general manual labor
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Working knowledge of basic building maintenance tools and practices
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required to perform duties
• Must be in good physical condition
