Construction Project Manager - Public Sector Construction

Responsibilities
· Oversee projects from initiation to completion, including contract breakdown, subcontract negotiation, and material procurement.
· Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
· Supervise project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and approvals.
· Coordinate with trade subcontractors, architects, and stakeholders to resolve construction issues and ensure smooth operations.
· Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Building and other regulatory guidelines while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
· Use independent judgment to make on-site decisions, negotiate change orders, and review contractor claims.
· Conduct site visits as needed and prepare project status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
· Education : Bachelor’s & Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Experience : Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, especially government contracts, with at least 6-8 years of experience in the industry.
· Technical Skills : Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Bluebeam and PlanSwift is preferred.
· Knowledge : Familiarity with public sector agency protocols (SCA, DDC, MTA, DASNY, DCAS, etc.) and NYC building codes is required
· Soft Skills : Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; ability to foster relationships with stakeholders and unions.
· Certifications : 62-hour Site Safety Supervisor training (required).
