About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established personal injury law firm representing individuals injured in car accidents, slip-and-falls, workplace incidents, and other negligence-related matters throughout New York City and surrounding counties.
The firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to manage complex, high-value cases from inception through trial. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is confident in the courtroom, comfortable managing an active caseload, and committed to delivering exceptional advocacy for clients.
What You'll Do
• Serve as first-chair attorney on complex personal injury cases in State and Federal Courts
• Manage the full litigation lifecycle, including case intake, investigation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial, and post-trial matters
• Prepare for and litigate trials, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and summary jury trials
• Conduct and defend depositions and manage written discovery
• Draft and argue motions, Orders to Show Cause (OTSC), and petitions
• Develop, execute, and adjust litigation and trial strategies to achieve optimal outcomes
• Review and analyze medical records, expert reports, and other case-related documentation
• Lead and facilitate settlement negotiations when appropriate
• Interview and evaluate prospective clients and potential cases
• Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients regarding case status, strategy, and developments
• Manage a daily caseload while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high-quality work product
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff throughout the litigation process
What You'll Bring
• Minimum of 2+ years of first-chair personal injury litigation experience
• Strong knowledge of New York State Supreme Court and Federal Court rules and procedures
• Demonstrated experience handling complex personal injury litigation matters
• Proven courtroom experience and ability to independently manage cases through trial
• Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong deposition, motion practice, negotiation, and trial preparation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when working with clients, colleagues, experts, and opposing counsel
• Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Sound professional judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
