PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Meriden, CT 06451 (Connecticut healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 25, 2025 – November 23, 2025)
• Unit: Pav C Step Down (Progressive Care Unit/PCU)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (NOC), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for Connecticut nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Step-down or Progressive Care Unit (PCU RN experience required)
• Valid NIHSS certification (must be the ONE YEAR certification)
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Ability to float between Critical Care, ICU, and PCU units as needed

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care/Step-down unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes promptly
• Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR (electronic medical records)
• Float to Critical Care or ICU units as required by management
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage
