Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Medical Office Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient patient flow, preparing treatment rooms, and providing procedural support. This role requires a minimum of three years of consistent experience in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities- Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient examinations.
- Provide procedural support following department-specific guidelines.
- Perform initial intake of patients, including interviews, vital signs, and allergy information.
- Accurately record and update relevant patient information.
- Perform daily Quality Controls (QC) for all Point of Care (POC) testing.
- Obtain specimens and accurately perform and record patient POC testing per policy.
- Track and retrieve patient lab/diagnostic testing results under provider or RN direction.
- Perform administrative functions of the patient prescription renewal process under provider or RN direction.
- Provide cross coverage for other appropriate clinical roles.
- Support departmental medical record audits as needed.
- Clean and stock patient care rooms between patients and maintain inventories of medical supplies.
- Stock and maintain patient-related forms and educational materials.
- Utilize equipment appropriately and report equipment/facility breakdown or damage promptly.
- Ensure documentation is legible and falls within appropriate MA scope/Organizational guidelines.
- Accurately document patient information on appropriate forms and demonstrate accuracy in data entry and retrieval.
- Perform other duties as assigned to promote health, safety, and comfort.
- Travel to satellite locations may be required.
- Demonstrate awareness of safety needs, infection control, risk management, and environment of care policies.
- Ask questions and seek clarification when needed, especially in situations outside of the MA scope of practice.

Candidates will be working in two offices located in Smithtown and West Islip. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. Each shift includes a half-hour unpaid lunch break, totaling 7.5 paid hours per day. No weekends are required. Daily duties include taking manual vitals, familiarity with holter monitors, and performing EKGs.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rockville Centre,NY.
