Job Title: LPN/LVN – Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
- Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Compensation
- Travel Pay: $50–$53/hr ($1,725–$1,828 weekly)
- Local Pay: $42–$45/hr ($1,449–$1,552 weekly)
Compensation based on experience.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate LPN/LVN – Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) professional for a 13-week assignment in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and patient care skills, including IV placement and phlebotomy, and thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to provide high-quality pediatric emergency care under the supervision of the RN or primary nurse.
Requirements
- Active New York State LPN/LVN license
- Current CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience required
- Pediatric Emergency Department or Emergency Department experience preferred
- Proficiency in IV placement and phlebotomy required
- Prior inpatient experience preferred
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in an acute care and pediatric emergency setting
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and procedures
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment
- Obtain and record vital signs and patient information
- Administer medications and injections as directed
- Monitor and report patient responses to treatments and interventions
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas to ensure readiness and cleanliness
- Support appointment scheduling, chart preparation, and office coordination
- Coordinate authorizations and referrals with insurance providers
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Implement nursing care activities under the supervision of the RN or primary nurse
- Participate in unit management and daily clinical operations
