The Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) at Cornell University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer or Teaching Professor (non-tenure track faculty) position in Epidemiology. This teaching position is a 12-month position, appointed for 3 or 5 years (beginning in 2026), and is renewable. Full-time lecturers are expected to teach 5-6 courses a year.

The successful candidate will have primary teaching responsibilities in epidemiology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This position also includes opportunities to develop or co-teach advanced courses in epidemiology and public health.

This position is ideally suited for an individual with a strong background in higher education, who is committed to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or related field
  • Demonstrated track record in teaching epidemiology at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
  • Commitment to inclusive learning environments and excellence in higher education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in biostatistics, public health, nutrition, or related fields
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teaching teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with biological, medical, nutrition and/or public health research

This hire is critical to the Division of Nutritional Sciences to assist with the teaching needs in support of the Division’s large academic program. Our focus in this hire is Epidemiology, where our curriculum needs support.

About the Division of Nutritional Sciences

The Division of Nutritional Sciences is one of the largest academic units in the United States devoted to human nutrition and the home of Cornell’s Graduate Program in Epidemiology . Our work spans from fundamental discovery to community engagement, all aimed at promoting human health through evidence-based nutrition, DNS studies human nutrition at levels ranging from molecules to populations, drawing on the chemical, biological and social sciences to understanding the complex relationship among human health, nutritional status, food and lifestyle patterns, and social and institutional environments. Research in DNS focuses on the following four areas: Nutrition for Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition for Metabolic Health, Nutrition for Public Health and Health Equity, Nutrition for Precision Health.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
