Trade Reliability Engineer

A full-time Trade Reliability Engineer position is available immediately in the company's location in New York, NY, reporting to the Portfolio Manager.

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Trade Reliability Engineer will have the following specific job responsibilities:

• Design and implement reliable trading infrastructure, including software, application, and network, to support the companys trading system, and evaluate product designs to ensure optimal performance and mitigate risk;
• Monitor and maintain the everyday trading pipelines and infrastructure and resolve incidents when they arise, minimizing downtime and impact on trading operations;
• Improve all aspects of software reliability of the companys trading environment, including observability, operability, scalability, and availability through new development and break-fix/support initiatives;
• Plan and execute reliability tests of products, draft test reports, and plan ways to reduce reliability risk;
• Develop and implement automation tools to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency using Python;
• Develop integral software services, tools, and libraries using DevOps tools, to be utilized by our software engineering, reliability engineering, and research teams to automate processes and reduce toil;
• Work closely with a variety of stakeholders including traders, portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, product engineers, IT, compliance, and other control functions, to optimize system performance and reliability; and
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to facilitate sharing and compliance with team members.

Experience and Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) plus a minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional employment experience in software system reliability engineering.

Required employment experience must include the following:

• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in software infrastructure and engineering and implementing reliability solutions using programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++, and networking concepts, such as TCP/IP stack, DNS, or cloud;
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in building, testing, and automating internal tools for efficient system operations and enhanced reliability;
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in monitoring performance metrics, alerting, logging, and responding to system incidents and real time outages;
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in implementing and updating secure configurations of systems and firewalls with a focus on reliability and scalability;
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in applying reliability engineering solutions to provide detailed impact analysis, scenario analysis, and risk analysis, and mitigate various security risks; and
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in communicating clear and accurate incident updates to stakeholders and documenting troubleshooting.
