Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program Details:

LOCATION:

Orchard Park High School

EFFECTIVE DATES:

July 6, 2026 - August 14, 2026

• An Introductory/Welcome Meeting for staff is tentatively scheduled for June 3, 2026: 3:30-4:30pm. Meeting will be held virtually.

• Set-Up day is tentatively planned for July 1st OR July 2nd, 2026.

Special Ed ESY:

• A special education program that is six (6) weeks in duration and includes students with disabilities (classified through CSE) who have demonstrated substantial regression during breaks from school

• The program will be hosted at Orchard Park High School;

• July 6 - August 14, 2026. Monday thru Friday

• Student day is from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM;

• Teacher and staff day is 7:45 AM - 2:15 PM

• There are 30 school days for students in ESY

• Students are eligible for ESY as determined by the Committee for Special Education (CSE)

• ESY Programming focuses on maintenance of skills as they pertain to IEP goals

• Transportation will be offered for students by the District

POSITIONS:

• Up to three (3) Literacy Specialists to provide specially designed reading instruction (up to 30 days). Applicants MUST be certified Special Education OR Reading Specialist as per NYS Regulations.

• One Behavior Specialist to provide behavioral support for students included, but not limited to individual Behavioral Intervention Plans as needed (up to 20 days);

• Up to three (3) Occupational Therapists to provide IEP services during the program duration (30 instructional days). These positions can be shared;

• Up to three (3) Physical Therapists to provide IEP services (30 instructional days). These positions can be shared;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate NYS certification / license

• Demonstrated ability to work with peers

• Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors

• Ability to motivate and instruct students

REPORTS TO:

ESY Summer Administrators

SALARY:

$46.00/hour as per OPTA Contract
