Vice President of Construction (2325)
We are partnering confidentially with a globally recognized, multi-billion-dollar, New York-based retail leader on a high-impact hybrid opportunity based in New York City.
This is a highly visible executive role overseeing construction strategy and execution across a large-scale North American retail footprint. The Vice President, Construction will play a critical role in shaping the future of the store environment—leading new store development, remodels, and concept evolution across a dynamic, omnichannel business.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys driving complex, multi-site initiatives while building and developing high-performing teams.

What You’ll Own
- Lead construction strategy and execution across a portfolio of 1,000+ retail locations across North America
- Oversee all new store openings, renovations, remodels, and in-store concept development
- Drive end-to-end project delivery, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and execution
- Develop and manage annual and long-term capital budgets, ensuring alignment with business priorities
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, geographically dispersed construction team
- Partner cross-functionally with Real Estate, Store Operations, Finance, Legal, and Procurement to align on priorities and execution
- Manage external vendors, contractors, and design partners to ensure quality, efficiency, and accountability
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, drive efficiencies, and enhance overall project delivery
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in retail construction, with leadership over large-scale, multi-site programs
- Proven ability to lead complex construction initiatives across diverse geographies and store formats
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to influence and partner effectively across cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership
- Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate, retail environments, and construction project management
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required
- Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 40–50%)
