Radiologic Technologist Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Radiology Contract)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: January 24, 2026
• Duration: 17 weeks
• Shift: 5x8 hour shifts (Days/Evenings; On-call, callbacks, and holidays as needed)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2320 - $2380 per week
• On-Call Requirement: Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts

Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist or Radiology Tech
• Recent experience (within the last 8 months) operating c-arm and o-arm equipment
• Prior experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
• Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and a collaborative team player

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders before performing radiology procedures
• Operate x-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images of bones, tissues, and organs
• Explain radiologic procedures to patients and address their questions or concerns
• Position patients safely and effectively, including assisting those with limited mobility
• Ensure safe operation of all radiologic equipment and minimize patient radiation exposure
• Monitor and interpret patient status to address age-specific healthcare needs
• Produce accurate diagnostic images for radiologist review and interpretation
• Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly
• Utilize electronic patient information systems and adhere to dual patient identifier protocols
• Maintain precise patient records and ensure images are uploaded to the PACS system
• Participate in on-call, callback, and holiday coverage as required by the radiology department
