Position: Patient Registrar
Shift: Monday – Friday,8AM - 4PM
Department: Rheumatology
Pay - $20-$21/hr

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (required); some college preferred
  • 1 year of Birth registration Experience

Technical & Administrative Skills

  • Proficiency in patient registration systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Strong knowledge o f birth registration laws, state reporting requireme nts, and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Experience completing and processing birth certificates and related legal documentation
  • Accuracy in data entry, record verification, and document filing
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital administrative procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with patients, family members, and medical staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism
  • Ability to explain procedures and requirements clearly to new parents and staff

Organizational & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining official records
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential and time-sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6–12 months of prior experience in hospital registration, health information management, or medical records
  • Familiarity with state electronic birth registration Duties
  • Bilingual communication skills
