Description
The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science is pleased to invite applications for an anticipated tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in mechanical engineering in the Department of Engineering at Hofstra University.
The Department of Engineering has an opening for a faculty member with an earned Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
The engineering programs at Hofstra are experiencing rapid growth, and the successful applicant will contribute to the department’s ability to offer a top-tier undergraduate educational experience to our students. Hence, candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, be able to initiate sustained research – especially of a type that can involve advanced undergraduates – and show initiative in seeking external funding for research. Preferred Quals Summary

Salary/Salary Range
$100,000-$110,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
- Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.
