Department Operations Assistant, Computer Science and Engineering
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering ( CSE ) in the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences is seeking to hire a Department Operations Assistant . This position is responsible for overseeing all undergraduate appointments, events, and related administrative functions within the department. The ideal candidate will have prior administrative experience and be team-oriented yet able to work independently. The role requires flexibility, efficiency, and strong attention to detail. As CSE is a large and dynamic environment, we seek an individual with experience working with diverse populations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support departmental marketing and outreach efforts in coordination with SEAS Communications, including content development for publications and digital platforms, student engagement campaigns, event invitation management, and biannual updates to the CS chairs mailing list.
- Provide administrative and student support, including processing undergraduate appointments, organizing departmental meetings, tracking DAB membership records, and assisting with enrollment during peak periods.
- Attend and support departmental events, including planning, setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown in collaboration with the Procurement and Facilities Coordinator.
- Supervise department student assistants and work-study students
- Assist with department assessment efforts & ad hoc reports as needed
- Assist with program reviews

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one year of administrative experience. More experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
