Location: New York, NY / Remote (Eastern Time Zone)
Salary: $125,000–$160,000 (depending on experience)
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Program Director to lead the development and execution of high-impact event programs for large-scale conferences and executive-level gatherings. This is a customer-facing, strategy-driven role focused on content leadership, client relationship management, and flawless event delivery.
The Senior Program Director will serve as the "event quarterback," overseeing programming from concept through execution while driving measurable business impact and supporting long-term partner and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Partner Account Management (30%)
Act as the primary point of contact for select clients, sponsors, partners, and speakers.
Lead external calls, status meetings, and ongoing communications with partners.
Manage and track all client deliverables, including speaking roles, branding, and networking activations.
Support post-event partner engagement, renewals, and new business opportunities in collaboration with the sales team.
Content Development & Speaker Engagement (30%)
Develop high-impact agendas aligned with client goals and industry trends.
Research, curate, and outreach to secure top-tier speakers and thought leaders.
Advise speakers on content, preparation, and strategic alignment with event themes.
Oversee all speaker logistics, briefings, scheduling, and engagement from pre-event through on-site execution.
Partner with marketing and production teams to ensure cohesive and compelling program integration.
Event Oversight & Execution (30%)
Oversee end-to-end program development to ensure exceptional attendee and stakeholder experiences.
Maintain detailed event documentation and collaborate with internal teams on overall logistics.
Lead on-site speaker and client management, ensuring flawless execution during live events.
Evaluate event performance and identify opportunities to enhance future programming.
Marketing, Communications & Analytics (10%)
Assist in developing event communications, invitations, and promotional materials.
Prepare internal and external briefing documents.
Track event metrics and provide insights that guide future strategy and improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality/Events, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in event programming , including program strategy, project management, content development, and speaker/client management.
Strong executive presence with proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, speakers, and partners.
Excellent communication, writing, and content curation skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated problem-solving and strategic-thinking abilities.
High level of professionalism, adaptability, and “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite; familiarity with CRMs, event software, or content platforms is a plus.
Flexibility to work extended hours and travel as needed.
