Senior Account Manager - Community Solar Experience Required
: New York, NY (Hybrid)
As a Senior Account Manager, you will take a leading role in serving PowerMarket's community solar developer clients, immersing yourself in all facets of our client operations and project management business. You will be client-facing and have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with our growing client base. This position is for a professional and entrepreneurial-minded team member who is looking to be challenged and grow in both the role and in the Company.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with PowerMarket's community solar developer clients.
- Understand the unique requirements and goals of each client and community solar project, ensuring internal alignment across business, software, and operations teams.
- Independently manage client accounts, including:
- Leading client communications via meetings and email
- Coordinating timely and accurate subscriber allocations
- Overseeing host and subscriber bank management
- Managing compliance filings, host statement reviews, and reporting
- Collaborating with the billing team to review billing cycle results and issue monthly reports
- Communicate client needs and implementation plans clearly across internal departments (Support, Tech, Billing/Report Ops) to drive successful project outcomes.
- Lead critical operational tasks and initiatives, such as:
- Utility filings and regulatory compliance
- Investigation and resolution of utility or state-level issues affecting client portfolios
- Analyze the technical and financial performance of client portfolios and propose data-driven strategies for optimization.
- Foster and mentor junior Operations Managers and Analysts by sharing expertise and supporting their professional development.
- Conduct initial research into client inquiries about policy, pricing, or market expansion; provide well-informed drafts and collaborate with Business Development for final client communications.
- Proactively report on client progress, challenges, and strategic updates during regular check-ins with the Director of Operations.
Qualifications
- Passionate about community solar and the clean energy future.
- Bachelor's degree AND at least 3 years of direct professional experience.
- Proven self-starter who works well under pressure and looks forward to being challenged.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in building relationships at all operational levels.
- Experience running LOOKUPs, pivot tables and other intermediate/advanced MS Excel features
- Understanding of energy transition and community solar broadly
- You enjoy working in teams, but can problem solve effectively without instruction
