Private Family in Oyster Bay, New York Seeking a Nanny / Housekeeper

Position: Full-Time or Part-Time Live-Out Nanny / Housekeeper

Schedule: Ideally Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM for full-time. The family is also open to a Monday–Thursday or part-time schedule for the right candidate.

Salary: $30-$35 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: Flexible for the right fit

Relocation: No – local candidates only

A warm and welcoming private family located in Oyster Bay, NY is seeking a dependable and supportive Nanny / Housekeeper to assist in their busy household. The family values a positive attitude, teamwork, and someone who can follow their established routines rather than reinventing systems already in place.

The role is designed to support the mother, who works with a flexible schedule and may occasionally need focused work time. The right candidate will act as an extra set of hands in the home—helping with childcare, maintaining general household order, and contributing to a calm, well-run environment.

Children: Three boys, ages 6, 3, and 1

• The two older children attend school from approximately 8:00 AM–3:00 PM.
• Primary daytime care will focus household upkeep and light childcare for 1 year old when mom needs.

Responsibilities

Childcare

• Step in to care for the baby if the mother needs to work for a few hours
• Support the household as an extra set of hands for the parent as needed
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for the children

Household Support

• Clean up after breakfast and keep the kitchen tidy
• Wash dishes and keep sinks clean
• Wipe surfaces and maintain general tidiness throughout the home
• Sweep or remove crumbs from floors when needed
• Make beds and maintain organized bedrooms
• Tidy play areas and put away toys
• Assist with family laundry, including some ironing
• Clean and maintain bathrooms
• Provide general surface cleaning and organization to keep the home running smoothly

This is a supportive household role rather than a deep-cleaning position. The focus is maintaining daily order and assisting the family where needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a similar nanny or nanny/housekeeper role in a private household
• Excellent professional references
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
