Digital assistant
/Duties
The Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking four students to work as Digital Accessibility Assistants. These students will work to support faculty in creating digitally accessible course materials. Students in this role will reformat documents to meet Title II accessibility standards and learn to use professional tools including the Microsoft Accessibility Checkers, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Ally, and AI-based accessibility aids. Applicants DO NOT need to be familiar with the accessibility standards or any of this software to apply. We will teach you. A successful applicant will need to be comfortable with computers and with learning new software.
Days/Hours Needed
10 hours per week on the days of their choosing.

Required Qualifications
- Basic Computer Literacy (as demonstrated by passing a short, elementary computer literacy quiz)
- Interest in learning new technology
- Maturity and Discretion for working on faculty developed materials
- Must be a SUNY Cortland Student
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Computer Literacy (as demonstrated by passing a short, elementary computer literacy quiz)
- Interest in learning new technology
- Maturity and Discretion for working on faculty developed materials
- History of working at the department or university level to support faculty and staff
- Experience with editing, computer programming, or another skill set that requires focus and precision.
Physical Demands
Must be able to work at a computer for 10 hours per week.
