Interim Financial Analyst
- The hourly rate is between $45-60/hr, depending on experience. This is a excellent opportunity to join a mission driven organization.
- Assist with financial integration and due diligence activities relating to the nonprofit consolidation/merger.
- Analyze projected/historic financial statements from the merging companies to identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop post-merger reporting processes, controls, and financial structures.
- Prepare scenario analyses and financial models to assist with decision making.
- Develop annual operating budgets and financial forecasts.
- Review budget-to-actual and prepare variance analysis, including explanations.
- Work with leadership to align budgets with goals and strategy.
- Initiate finance reporting for grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
- Monitor unrestricted and restricted funding, grant spending timelines, and allowable costs.
- Prepare schedules, audit support docs, and grant related financial reports. Support cost recovery analysis and indirect cost allocations.
- Create and maintain revenue models for various programs including government contracts, grants, and fee-for-service.
- Analyze cost structures, sustainability, and profitability at the program level.
- Support service volume assumptions, pricing, and reimbursement rate analysis.
- Use financial insights to inform program redesign, consolidation, and expansion.
- Create financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and the board.
- Turn financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Assist with maintaining internal controls and supporting process improvements.
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 3-5 years experience with financial analysis within non-profit or human services.
- Strong financial modeling skills (revenue and scenario modeling); experience with budgeting, forecasting, and grant accounting.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial models)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with nonprofit consolidations, mergers, or acquisitions.
- Understanding of human services funding streams and government contracts.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and compliance.
- Experience working with commonly used ERP systems.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
