Catering Driver

If you have experience working as a Driver or a Catering Driver, we have a great opportunity for you! Our Port Jefferson Catering Office is seeking to add a PT Catering Driver to their team, to assist with catering order runs to customer locations. (No CDL is required). A Company small van is provided for this position.

The Catering Driver's primary responsibility is to get the world's best gourmet food quickly and safely from the store to the customer's location. The Catering Driver is responsible for delivering all items and setting them up at the customer's requested approved location. This position requires the individual to operate our company vehicle according to all local, state and federal regulations and maintain the vehicle in a safe manner while carrying our gourmet food.

Responsibilities

• The Catering Driver must operate our vehicle according to all local, state, and federal regulations and maintain a vehicle in a manner capable of carrying large quantities of food.

• Assist with in store pick-ups

• Tasks included packing orders, packing paper good tickets, preparing condiments

• Setting orders up to meet client expectations

• Will require working off premised events such as BBQ's, Omelets events, Weddings etc. (Pay differential)

• Deliver outstanding customer service

• Loading and unloading of catering equipment from vehicles

• Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 21 year of age or older
• HS Degree or equivalent
• Previous driver experience working as a Driver or Catering Driver is required
• Must work well under minimal supervision
• Must have reliable transportation to report into work
• Must be able to work varied hours / days and start shift at early hours
• Must work well in a fast paced environment
• Requires the ability to multitask and switch tasks quickly
• Must work well with other team members
• The ability to read, count and accurately complete documentation
• Valid, clean NYS Drivers License

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
