FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager
Physical Requirements: Stationary desk work.
Hours of Work: Full time 37.5 hours per week. Overtime work as needed
Pay Range: The pay range is $19.00 to $25.28
Job Summary: The Billing & Benefits Specialist assists with the monitoring of Medicaid billing and federal and state entitlement benefits for individuals we serve. This position also helps with the establishment and tracking of personal allowances for individuals.
Job Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree preferred or High School diploma/GED and two years of related experience required.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as general office skills.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- Valid NYS Driver's license that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Process weekly/monthly Medicaid billings and follow-up with denials .
- Manage SSA/SSI, Medicaid eligibility requirements, and food stamps for residential participants, including mail notifications
- Assist with set up and maintenance of participant bank accounts.
- Meet all Agency, Federal, State, and County Reporting requirements as established.
- Assists with Social Security reviews and disability forms for individuals.
- Assists with Social Security reviews for individuals.
- Establish and follow up on status of trusts , including NYSARC and ABLE.
- Applies and monitors rep payee status.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
