Some Job Responsibilities:
- Preparing for and attending recreation events that may include evening/weekends such as dinners, dances, sporting events, talent shows, bingo nights, socials and other recreation functions.
- Coordinates and runs group recreational activities at Children’s Residence.
- Finds and distributes information to residences regarding local recreational events occurring in the community.
- Complete any documentation (evaluations and assessments) after group activities have been finished for the day / at the start of shift the following day.
- Attends and participates in clinic and other related meetings as needed.
- Communicate all pertinent information to Coordinator of Recreation Services and Director / Assistant Director of Children’s Residence.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Submit upcoming recreation schedules to supervisor monthly and weekly report to Coordinator of Recreation Services and Director / Assistant Director of Children’s Residence.
- Perform all tasks involved in organizing and executing trips (trip request forms, getting group together, driving individuals to and from location, filling out all required documentation, etc.).
- All other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related area and Certified Therapeutic Specialist Certificate(CTRS)
- Supervisory experience
- Experience working with MR/DD population
- Valid NYS driver’s license
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
