Senior Software Engineers
Asana, Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineers for its New York, NY location. (Telecommuting within a commutable distance of the office is permitted two days per week) Duties: Independently design and implement complex, large-scale software systems. Work across all phases of the software development life cycle within a project to design, code, test and document large, complex software requirements for new or enhanced applications. Analyze business requirements, and convert requirements into technical specifications. Collaborate with stakeholders from internal and external teams to fine tune technical specifications and product requirements using relevant metrics. Design, test, and develop software applications per technical specifications while adhering to software engineering best practices. Collaborate with other software engineers to evaluate and optimize software applications. Integrate all modules of software applications and ensure smooth interoperability between the various modules. Participate in testing and maintenance sprints to ensure that software applications function as per specifications. Develop engineering design documents to propose implementation and rollout of new features based on business requirements, ensuring alignment among project managers and engineers. Mentor and train junior engineers by leading workshops, reviewing junior engineers code, and reviewing software changes across teams. Requirements: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related technical field and five (5) years of progressive post-degree employment experience as a Software Engineer, or closely related position. Alternatively, Masters degree or foreign equivalent in the fields above and three (3) years of employment experience in the positions above. Any suitable combination of education, experience, and training is acceptable. Must have demonstrated experience with the following skills: Project Management across all stages of software delivery lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance; Full-Stack Software Engineering including Front-End, Back-End, Internal Tooling, and Data Pipeline engineering; Utilizing the Typescript, JavaScript, and Python programming languages to build software applications; Developing and maintaining scalable and distributed software systems for various real-time applications and large-scale analysis; Utilizing Application Programming Interfaces (API) to design, develop and deliver new features; Building Observability and Monitoring Tools, Dashboards, and Alerting to detect and resolve software performance issues; Designing and Maintaining internationalization pipelines and localization tooling; Utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) to develop and maintain software delivery pipelines, and automate application infrastructure; and Designing and implementing automated data, analytics, and machine learning pipelines. 40 hours/week; Salary: $202,000 to $258,200/year.
