We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support a high-volume financial project for a payments-focused organization in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone early in their accounting career who is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working with transactional data. The ideal candidate will help maintain reliable records, support payment-related activities, and use Salesforce and Excel to keep information current and actionable.
Responsibilities:• Review payment-related records for accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies through careful research and follow-up.
• Enter, update, and maintain financial and customer transaction details in Salesforce and associated tracking files.
• Prepare spreadsheets and reconcile data sets in Excel to support daily accounting and reporting needs.
• Assist with processing routine payment transactions while ensuring documentation is complete and properly recorded.
• Monitor assigned project tasks closely and escalate issues when inconsistencies or exceptions are identified.
• Support special accounting initiatives that may involve updates to workflows, records, or system-based tracking activities.
• Partner with internal team members to keep financial information organized, current, and aligned across platforms.• Experience using Salesforce in a business or administrative setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, review, and analyze data accurately.
• Familiarity with payment processing or transaction-based financial operations.
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent approach to accurate data entry and recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Entry-level accounting knowledge or comparable experience in finance, billing, or transactional support.
