Atria Books is seeking a Publicity and Marketing Assistant primarily focused on Atria's nonfiction titles, working with both the publicity and marketing teams, and reporting to the Deputy Director of Publicity and Senior Marketing Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn all aspects of book publishing with a focus on nonfiction publicity and marketing.

This role will assist with publicity and marketing campaigns for high profile nonfiction titles from some of the most respected authors in the literary community within the Atria imprints of Simon & Schuster.

Responsibilities include creating press materials, booking author tour travel, author schedule upkeep, researching contacts, pitching media, preparing and scheduling social media, digital marketing strategy, bookseller/librarian outreach (print and digital mailings) and consumer outreach (goodreads giveaways, netgalley, etc.), content marketing, academic marketing, and general administrative duties.

Candidates must be passionate about reading nonfiction, eager to learn about media relations and marketing, interested in book signing events and partnerships, supremely detail-oriented, creative, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Excel, Google docs, PowerPoint, social media platforms, as well as general computer skills.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
