Creative Arts Theater Production Coordinator
The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of approximately 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Our vibrant intellectual community draws students from all over the city, admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement and community.
The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time Theater Production Coordinator for its summer Creative Arts Program (CAP). The Theater Production Coordinator will produce a daily talent showcase for campers and instructors, as well as provide support for the summer musical, at this highly engaging and inspiring summer program for approximately 250 students entering grades three (3) through nine (9).
Responsibilities
- Produce a daily talent showcase for campers and instructors
- Organize themes for the production
- Organize overarching showcase programming schedule for summer with Camp Directors
- Coordinate with class instructors and camp counselors to manage daily programming and rehearsal
- Schedule emcees for each showcase and coordinate technical needs
- Support culminating camp musical rehearsal and production
- Serve as the piano accompaniment for camp musical and talent showcases
- Report any incidents or accidents to appropriate program personnel
- Provide supervision and behavioral support in the theater
- Maintain awareness of participant allergies, medications and emergency contact information
- Perform other camp duties, as assigned
Dates and Hours
June 29 - July 31, 2026
M - F: 8:30am - 4:30pm (with occasional evening hours for Musical Production)
Counselors must be available to work the full summer and must be available the week of June 22 for mandatory staff orientation (specific dates and times to be determined).
Qualifications
- Must have at least one year of College experience
- Experience with children’s theater programming and managing theatrical productions
- Competent in playing the piano and comfortable accompanying singing
- Knowledge of sound and lighting for stage productions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build positive relationships with campers, families, and team members
- Confident enforcing camp rules and upholding Berkeley Carroll’s values with equity, kindness, fairness, and consistency
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems calmly and effectively, using sound judgment and appropriate decision-making
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and adaptable
