Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job

Overview
PACU Registered Nurse (Perioperative Focus) in Rochester, NY. Start date: 04/20/2026 for a travel assignment lasting several weeks. Shift: 4x10 evenings. Weekly pay: $2,210–$2,394 per week. No guaranteed hours. Work setting: a 471-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital with a dedicated PACU unit.

- Orientation: 16 hours
- Call requirements: weeknights and weekends (as noted) with up to 4 total call shifts when requested

Responsibilities
- Deliver Phase I and II PACU care, including monitored anesthesia care, airway/respiratory management, and postoperative monitoring
- Manage pain control and PCA administration; address postoperative nausea and other common post-op issues
- Perform initial and ongoing post-anesthesia assessments; determine discharge readiness and provide discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic; communicate patient status and plan with the anesthesia and surgical teams
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, interpretation services, pharmacy, social services, transportation) to support patient needs
- Respond to rapid response and emergent situations per protocol; ensure patient safety and timely interventions

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand (required to submit)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Epic charting experience required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement competencies
- Education: RN graduate from an accredited program; able to work in a PACU environment and float as needed
