Utility Bill Analyst

UtiliSave is seeking curious, analytical action-takers with strong Python programming skills to join the team that is the heart and soul of the UtiliSave success story, as you play a key role in these efforts to drive growth. Through deep penetrating forensic utility bill analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a record of success in school or at work in a role focused on gathering data, cost analysis, analyzing complex laws, rules and regulations, and identifying cases, opportunities and solutions. This position interfaces directly with customers, so strong communication, presentation and client management skills are also essential. This is an ideal entry level position to quickly become a revenue generating engine.
Our clients are large organizations with significant energy and utility usage, such as hospitals, nursing homes, commercial and residential buildings, universities, hotels and government facilities. We can identify unique savings opportunities using our unmatched knowledge of utility tariff structures and our powerful proprietary IT and knowledge-based system.
Responsibilities
· Apply your analytical skills and general business knowledge to identify cost savings opportunities for clients.
· Using UtiliSave’s proprietary software applications, conduct financial, utility and business analysis of clients’ operations, and initiate action to obtain cost savings for clients.
· Interface with clients, utility companies, tax authorities, regulatory authorities and government agencies to obtain appropriate information to successfully implement savings and refund opportunities.
· Match details in complex utility tariff codes against our clients’ usage data and practices to identify new savings.
· Collaborate with our MIS group to implement tools to improve our client account review process and drive greater revenue success.
Requirements
· 1-3 years of work experience with a demonstrated skill in data analysis, out-of-the-box thinking and the ability to apply complex rules to derive financial opportunity.
· A completed undergraduate degree (no more than six months from completion is also acceptable), a major or concentration in the STEM field is ideal and preferred
· A proficiency in Phyton programming, with other language programming skills a plus.
· A demonstrated ability to grasp and clearly explain technical and legal concepts and business issues.
· Strong oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence decision makers.
· Previous experience working with or for a regulated public utility, especially dealing with rate billing analysis and customer interaction, would be a material advantage.
· Able to independently solve problems, think creatively and implement opportunities.
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

· Candidates will receive the necessary training in a three-month intensive program to learn our methodology and analytical techniques.

Job Type: Full-time, Remote, Work Hours 9-6 pm EST
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year, with the potential for an increase upon successful demonstration of acquired utility bill auditing skills. There is also a continued monthly bonus plan for successful income generation.
