Resilient Children and Families Family Engagement Specialist

Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established in 1965 with a mission to combat poverty and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. The agency's philosophy in addressing poverty has also evolved, incorporating evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to better serve the community.

Responsibilities of the Family Engagement Specialist include recruiting and enrolling eligible children and families from varied backgrounds. The successful candidate will provide educational and support services for children and families in a home setting. A Family Engagement Specialist supports family engagement in children's development and supports families across various demographics in the goal setting process and in accessing resources.

An associate's degree in human or related field or a combination of education and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will be professional, caring, and compassionate, who understands childhood development and has a passion for working with children and their families. 

The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
