The ideal candidate has strong contacts in the style and beauty space, a sharp cultural eye for commentary, and strong writing skills. This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine reporting chops with creativity and trend awareness.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver compelling coverage. Write quick-turn stories, in-depth features, and commentary that blends reporting with cultural insight.
  • Leverage industry relationships. Build and maintain contacts among stylists, designers, beauty brands, influencers, and publicists to secure access and exclusives.
  • Collaborate across platforms. Work with photo, video, and social teams to create visually rich packages and amplify coverage on social media.
  • Engage audiences. Use analytics and trend signals to inform coverage decisions and maximize reach.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in entertainment, fashion, or lifestyle journalism.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of style and beauty trends, especially as they intersect with entertainment and pop culture.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing and reporting ability; sharp cultural perspective; ability to craft stories that resonate across platforms.
  • Network: Established contacts in the style and beauty industry.
  • Social fluency: Comfortable using social platforms for sourcing and actively participating in coverage amplification.
  • Traits: Self-starter, creative, organized, and passionate about shaping this beat for USA TODAY.
