About the Position

Job Title: Certified Nursing Attendant Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Evening shifts needed with Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: Day: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM; Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:15 PM Experience: 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care is a must License: Client Certification as a Nursing Attendant Certifications: None listed Must-Have: Strong work ethic and professionalism EPIC experience is a plus Description: Provides direct patient care and related support. Performs other related duties as assigned. Provides routine personal care to patients in a timely, safe, and effective manner. Care may include bathing, shaving, brushing teeth, dressing patients, and attending to their personal care needs. Prepares patients for meals, feeds, and/or assists with feeding as necessary. Empties bedpans and collects urine and other specimens. Transfers patients to and from bed and/or chair using one-person transfer, two-person transfer, and Hoyer lift. Takes accurate vital signs, including temperatures, pulse, and respirations. Records all necessary information according to policy and procedure. Performs range of motion exercises using proper technique. Assists patients in walking and in transporting them via wheelchair or stretcher. Performs other related duties as assigned. Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and other discomforts. Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend, and stretch. Ability to read, write, and interpret documents. Ability to sit for long periods to perform job functions. Ability to stand for long periods at patient bedside and/or procedural areas. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers. May be required to handle reasonably heavy weights across distances. May be required to assist in lifting patients onto/out of exam beds or procedure stations. Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and materials. Knowledge of all codes and an understanding of their significance. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. High School Diploma or GED is required. No prior experience necessary for certification holders.
