Shop Lead
We are seeking a seasoned Machine Shop Lead to spearhead our manufacturing operations. This isn't just a desk job—we need a "player-coach" who possesses the technical mastery to jump on a lathe when needed and the leadership grit to manage a high-performing team. You will be responsible for the heartbeat of our facility: ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing production flow, and mentoring the next generation of machinists.
salary: $83,200 - $166,300 per yearshift: First
work hours: 6 AM - 3 PM
education: No Degree Required Responsibilities s the Lead, you are the bridge between technical execution and departmental strategy. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Operational Mastery: Oversee and perform functions across traditional and CNC Lathes, milling machines, and punch presses.
- Production Planning: Utilize our Shop Traveler management system to track manufacturing details, document processes, and ensure work instructions are followed to the letter.
- Team Leadership: Foster a cooperative environment through hands-on training, performance evaluations, and active mentorship. You’ll handle everything from praising a job well done to managing disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Workflow Coordination: Interface with other departments to prevent bottlenecks, prioritize schedules, and ensure assemblies are delivered on time.
- Asset Management: Maintain equipment health and make the "call" on when to repair vs. replace obsolete machinery or tools.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized shop floor while ensuring all work meets rigorous regulatory requirements and internal standards.
