As part of a reimagined Top of the Rock experience, the most iconic vantage point of Manhattan now includes The Weather Room Bar and Café. Named after the formerly functioning National Weather Service’s Doppler radar that sits atop the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center, The Weather Room offers distinctly New York food and beverages in the clouds.

The Weather Room is a vibrant and welcoming space where great food, community, and culture come together. We serve specialty coffee, delicious food, and regularly host events ranging from live music to private gatherings. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and collaborative Café Cook to support food and beverage execution and help deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Position Summary

The Café Cook is a key member of the service team, responsible for the execution and presentation of food and select beverages during service. Working behind the bar and in close coordination with bartenders and counter staff, the Café Cook ensures food and beverage orders are prepared accurately, efficiently, and to Weather Room standards. This role supports both kitchen and café operations, including station setup, breakdown, and ongoing service support.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and deliver all food products ordered by guests, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely service.
• Prepare and deliver coffee, tea, and hot chocolate service in accordance with house standards.
• Set up and break down the kitchen station daily, ensuring readiness for service.
• Set up, maintain, and break down the Eversys machine and coffee station as assigned.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels upstairs for all food and beverage items needed during service.
• Assist with opening and closing sidework, including cleaning, stocking, and organization.
• Collaborate with teammates throughout service to ensure smooth flow and strong guest experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas in compliance with food safety standards.
• Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor on duty.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service, café, or kitchen experience preferred.
• NYC Food Handlers Certificate required within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

• Occasionally crouch or climb.
• Work with hot equipment, common allergens, and specialty ingredients.
