Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a high-acuity travel assignment in Utica, NY. This role requires strong emergency nursing skills, prior travel experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Level I emergency setting treating patients across all age groups.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory, and critical care patients while maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care for patients ranging from newborns to geriatric populations
• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Assist with trauma, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure cases
• Operate specialty emergency equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun systems
• Manage emergency drips including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation, anticoagulants, and insulin infusions
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Float within emergency care areas as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR
• Follow all hospital safety, infection control, and emergency response protocols

• 64-bed Emergency Department
• 40 Acute Care Beds
• 2 Trauma Bays
• 10 Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Beds
• 6 Psychiatric Beds
• Pediatric and Adult Emergency Care
• High-acuity emergency and trauma environment

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Pediatric ED experience required
• Current AHA Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC (Required)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
• Charge nurse experience highly preferred
