Measurements Technician III

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking a Measurements Technician III to support precision optical testing, alignment, and metrology system development in a dynamic lab environment.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Measurements Technician III

Location: Fairport, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Fairport, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred, Degree in Optics or a related field preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precision optical alignment and testing of metrology systems

• Support system assembly, integration, and qualification activities

• Execute test procedures and document results

• Analyze and interpret data using tools such as Excel, MATLAB, or Python

• Ensure proper handling of sensitive optical components

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testing processes

• Work effectively in a research-driven, evolving environment

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-7+ years of experience in optics (depending on degree level)

• Strong understanding of geometrical optics

• Hands-on experience with optical alignment and test setups

• Data analysis experience using Excel, MATLAB, or Python

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

• Cleanroom experience
