We are excited to expand our Surgery Department with the addition of a second surgeon, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our supportive and collaborative team.

Schedule:

• More information to come, but we are anticipating four 10-hour shifts.

Compensation:

• $20 - $23 pending experience & skillset

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our surgical team and ensuring each patient receives the highest level of care. Your day will be dynamic and hands-on, with responsibilities that include:

• Cleaning and sterilizing all surgical equipment and instrument packs (gas sterilization certification provided)
• Running CT scans from start to finish with comprehensive training
• Obtaining orthopedic and standard radiographs
• Safely restraining patients for exams and anesthetic procedures
• Setting up and breaking down the surgery department for daily procedures
• Communicating clearly and effectively with all members of the team
• Maintaining flexibility to support a rotating schedule
• Taking and recording patient vitals accurately
• Assisting the Surgery Liaison with starting appointments and collecting thorough patient histories
