Job Description

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for providing essential support to the Receiving department. This vital support includes examining shipment contents and comparing them with the requisition to verify accuracy, preparing receiving reports, and delivering packages from various carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) to departments across the college. The clerk reviews internal supply orders, delivers supplies to requesters, manages office supplies, and ensures smooth and efficient receiving operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and deliver packages from UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other carriers.
  • Verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain receiving reports and file related documentation.
  • Deliver supplies and packages to requesting departments across campus.
  • Assist with managing office supply inventory and fulfilling internal supply orders.
  • Accurately file purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Provide excellent phone and in-person customer service skills.
  • Track and monitor packages using asset management systems.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in a receiving or clerical role.
  • Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in a receiving or clerical role.
  • Familiarity with package tracking or asset management systems (e.g., SQBX, BMI Asset, AssetTrak, TransTrak).


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the SQBX Package tracking system.
  • Knowledge of BMI Asset, AssetTrak, and TransTrak systems.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and data entry processing software.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Salary

Salary: $44,263.86 per year

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Salary: $44,263.86 per year with step increments per Salary Schedule 87, after one year of service and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

The working conditions for this position may be any combination on an office, classroom, lab, or loading dock. The physical requirement for this position will require frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent bending or twisting, frequent walking, constant pulling, pushing, or reaching, frequent repetitive motions, constant use of hands to feel objects, constant lifting of up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifting over 50 lbs.
