Nail Art Designer/Technician

Overview
We are seeking a New York licensed, talented and detail-oriented Nail Art Technician to join our beauty team. Must have creativity, a strong design aesthetic, and techniques/skill set for intricate nail art and be well up to date on the latest nail trends/fashions of the industry. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for nail care and artistry, combined with excellent customer service skills. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while providing clients with exceptional nail services in a professional and hygienic environment. The Nail Art Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality nail art, manicures, and pedicures, as well as recommending additional beauty treatments to enhance client satisfaction.

Hourly wage will be $16.50/hr with 10% commission on nail art designs higher than tier 2 designs to start.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional nail care services including manicures, pedicures, and intricate nail art designs.
• Apply advanced techniques with gel nails, UV, and nail extensions to meet client preferences.
• Maintain strict sanitation and sterilization standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Provide personalized consultations to discuss nail design ideas, color choices, and treatment options.
• Educate clients on proper nail care routines and aftercare instructions.
• Upsell additional beauty services such as eyelash extensions, body waxing, or esthetic spa treatments when appropriate.
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Stay current with the latest trends in nail art, color theory, and beauty treatments to offer innovative designs.
• Foster excellent communication skills to ensure client satisfaction and build lasting relationships.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Nail Technician in a NYC salon or spa setting.
• Knowledge of color theory, nail care techniques, and sanitation protocols.
• Experience with advanced beauty treatments including eyelash extensions, waxing, or make up application is a huge plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients.
• Familiarity with retail sales techniques and upselling strategies to promote additional services or products.
• Certification in cosmetology or nail licensing is required; additional certifications in specialized treatments are advantageous.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment as a team member while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
