Special Education Teacher
Bronx Little School, PS 691 is apart of the NYCPS, has a vacancy for a Special Education/Students with Disabilities teacher for Elementary (Grades 1-6). Bronx Little School is located in the West Farms-Bronx River neighborhood of Bronx.
Some responsibilities for our Special Education Teachers are to:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Design developmentally appropriate academic and non-academic activities for the classSelect educational materials and activities that are in line with the student’s IEPs
- Provide instruction in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each studentUtilize learning technology and assistive devices to support student learning
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a comprehensive educational program
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students
- Write progress reports/annual reviews
