Staff Accountant

Are you detail-oriented and ready to make an impact? We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our corporate team at Elderwood Administrative Services.

This position is remote with in-office department meetings as needed. Currently, in-office meetings take place approximately two (2) times per month.

Staff Accountant Overview:

• The Staff Accountant provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. This individual prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information; documents financial transactions by entering account information; monitors variances/inaccuracies, implements corrective action when necessary while adhering to state, local and federal laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Staff Accountant:

• Performs monthly financial accounting and financial analysis for assigned companies by:
  • generating financial statements
  • explaining variances to budget and trend
  • presenting operating results to facility leadership and executive team
• Assists with monthly financial close for several companies including:
  • expense accruals/adjustments
  • balance sheet reconciliations
  • trend and financial analysis
  • actual production of internal financial statements for operators
  • external financial statements for lenders
• Works with facility personnel including administrators and department heads concerning monthly financial reports and budget comparisons.
• Assists in the preparation of annual budgets, audit work papers and schedules for external auditors.
• Assists with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with computer usage and applications such as Microsoft Office and Great Plains accounting system
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
