Founded by Tzurit Or in 2007, Tatte Bakery began in a home kitchen and at Boston farmers markets before opening its first café in Brookline, Massachusetts. What started as a small neighborhood bakery has grown into a beloved brand with cafés throughout Greater Boston, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and now the Tri State area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for Line Cooks to help us open our Gramercy café! Our Line Cooks prepare dishes according to Tatte recipes and standards while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety across every shift. We expect our savory team members to:
- Work collaboratively and support the team wherever needed
- Bring passion, attention to detail, and pride to every dish prepared
- Maintain high standards for quality, cleanliness, and organization

- Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, afternoons, and evenings
- Ideally, have prior experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment
Summary of Line Cooks’ Primary Responsibilities
- Execute techniques under the direction of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
- Set up and break down workstations and prepare for upcoming shifts
- Wash and disinfect kitchen surfaces, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
- Assist chefs in preparing food and supporting additional culinary tasks as needed
- Other related assignments as necessary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to grasp and reach overhead
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+ lbs
- Must be able to stand and work on feet for 8+ hours per day
