Host / Backserver

The Butcher’s Daughter is a busy, fast-paced, and vibrant vegetarian restaurant with three locations in the New York City area and two locations in Los Angeles. We are home to locals and a destination for travelers, and we are expanding our locations!
HOST/BACKSERVER

This is a hybrid role that offers mixed shifts between Host & Backserver
MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Host:

• Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups.
• Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.
• Takes names on a waiting list.
• Runs the floor plan board.
• Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
• Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
• Cleans, organizes, and stocks menus at the host / market area.
• Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Backserver:

• This is a dual role supporting the floor. While there are no guests at the door, you will be helping to run food, bus tables, restock items, and support the service of the floor. This is a small dining room and requires all staff working together as a collective unit, many days wearing multiple hats during a fast paced service.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a high volume
• Previous customer service experience strongly preferred
• Detail-oriented, neat, self-motivated, and a team player.
• Ability to support the floor staff in setting tables and supporting service.
• Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
• Flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays).
• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
• Proficient or ability to learn computer skills including POS systems, OpenTable,
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($11.35 + Tips)
