Location: Marcel – 945 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021
Pay Range: $24–$30 per hour
Schedule: Full-time; open availability preferred
Experience: Upscale dining experience preferred

Marcel is a new French American restaurant based on locally sourced ingredients, led by the dynamic winning team Chef Marie Rose and Chef Juan Moncalvo, located inside the iconic Breuer building on Madison Avenue. Created by Roman and Williams in partnership with Sotheby’s, Marcel is the design firm’s second restaurant following the celebrated La Mercerie. The space will also feature La Mercerie Patisserie, offering guests a refined dining and pastry experience in an architecturally significant setting.

This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work seamlessly within a disciplined, high-performing kitchen brigade.

This position supports daily kitchen operations while upholding the highest levels of food safety, sanitation, and organizational excellence.

• Prepare and cook menu items consistently and efficiently, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation standards are met.
• Follow all food safety protocols, including federal, state, local, and company guidelines, as well as HACCP procedures.
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate ingredients, maintaining organized dry, cold, and frozen storage areas.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely; participate in routine and scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Maintain accurate daily production records and complete required documentation and logs.
• Assist with the training and support of fellow kitchen staff; may help oversee culinary tasks as assigned.
• Follow all safety requirements, including the use of cut gloves, heat‑protective gloves, slip‑resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support smooth kitchen operations.

• Professional cooking experience required; upscale dining experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes, safety procedures, and production standards.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the team.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights as required.
