Assistant Store Manager SoHo, NYC Flagship

Vivobarefoot are opening a flagship store in SoHo, NYC and we're looking for an Assistant Store Manager who can help run the floor with energy and purpose. As our Assistant Store Manager, you'll support all aspects of running the store from leading the floor to coaching the team and helping create standout customer experiences. - Handle complex customer moments with care, calm and confidence.
- Coach the team day‑to‑day, give in‑the‑moment feedback and help set clear priorities.
- Support hiring, onboarding and ongoing development.
- Open and close the store confidently and help keep daily operations smooth.
- Lead the floor to deliver strong sales and support team performance.
- Work with the Store Manager to read metrics, spot opportunities and turn insight into simple actions.
- Support scheduling, payroll checks and people operations.
- Maintain high standards across safety, housekeeping and back‑of‑house organisation.
- Process returns and handle issues with professionalism.
- Help maintain strong stock accuracy and smooth product flow.
- Execute visual merchandising updates and keep the store aligned with brand guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Store Manager and wider retail team.
- Support local events, activations and community‑building moments.
- 3+ years of retail leadership experience (or similar).
- Confident communicator with strong customer instincts.
- Comfortable running operations: cash handling, scheduling, POS, basic retail math.
- Tech‑friendly (Microsoft Office, Teams, POS).
- Passion for health, wellness or movement is a plus.
- Able to work a flexible 40‑hour week, including weekends, and occasional out‑of‑state travel (0-10%).
- Ability to Stand/Walk for Extended Periods: Must be capable of remaining on the sales floor and actively engaging with customers throughout shifts.
- Must be able to safely lift boxes and packages weighing up to 30 pounds to facilitate inventory management and customer service.
- Navigating Stairs: Depending on store layout, must be prepared to go up and down stairs as needed for various functions in the retail space.
