Job Title: Registered Dietitian

Location: Bronx, NY 10451

Schedule: 35 hours/week (7 hours/day, 5 days/week)

Compensation

• Local: $48–$51 per hour (based on relevant experience)

• Travel: $50–$62 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Job Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking a Registered Dietitian to assess patients’ nutritional needs and deliver individualized nutrition care and education. This role involves monitoring food and medication interactions, documenting nutrition education, collaborating with physicians on diet modifications, and providing ongoing nutritional counseling. Experience in outpatient care and dialysis is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen and assess patients accurately and in a timely manner according to level of care

• Determine nutritional status and develop appropriate nutrition care plans with follow-up

• Conduct patient and/or family interviews to obtain food histories, habits, and preferences

• Interpret laboratory values, physical assessments, and social data related to nutrition care

• Provide nutrition education and document diet instructions and patient understanding in the medical record

• Monitor and educate patients on food and drug interactions; document findings as required

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members on diet modifications

• Modify patient menus based on clinical needs

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Dietitian

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Two (2) years of experience

• Outpatient nutrition experience

• Experience working with dialysis patients

Education Requirements

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Dietetics, Foods, or Nutrition

Preferred:

• Master’s degree

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

• Acute Care Settings:

  • Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with Primary Source Verification

• Post-Acute / Long-Term Care Settings:

  • New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) at the time of hire

Preferred:

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
