The Montessori Spanish Instructor provides dynamic and developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for children ages 5–9 (Capstone Kindergarten through Lower Elementary). The instructor fosters joyful engagement with language and culture, encouraging curiosity, connection, and global awareness. Lessons are presented in small groups within a calm, respectful, Montessori-based environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach one Spanish class daily (M–F, 1:30–2:30 p.m.) for Capstone and Elementary students. (M-Th Ages: 6 - 9) (F- Age 5/6)
• Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons focused on conversational Spanish, vocabulary, songs, and cultural exploration.
• Incorporate Montessori-aligned, hands-on, and sensory-based learning strategies.
• Encourage curiosity, respect for diversity, and an appreciation for global cultures.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain language materials and resources.
• Support students’ independence and confidence through positive guidance and consistent routines.
• Collaborate with Montessori faculty to align Spanish lessons with classroom themes and cultural studies.
• Maintain accurate attendance and communicate regularly with the Principal regarding curriculum and student engagement.
• Participate in occasional faculty meetings, professional learning sessions, or school events as requested.
• Follow school policies and uphold Nardin Academy’s mission and values.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field; or equivalent fluency in Spanish.
• Experience teaching or working with children ages 5–9 preferred.
• Familiarity with or openness to Montessori philosophy strongly

preferred.

• Warm, patient, and collaborative approach to teaching and

classroom interaction.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to design engaging, interactive lessons that make learning Spanish joyful and meaningful.

Working Conditions:

The work environment is a Montessori classroom setting. The noise level in the work

environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student

population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid

conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to

bloodborne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.

Compensation:

The targeted hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour. Final compensation will be at the discretion of the hiring team based upon the candidate’s interview performance and relevant professional experience. This is a part-time role, with 1 hour per day, Monday through Friday.
