Real Estate Development Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting and financial reporting for active real estate development and construction projects
• Review and process construction pay applications and requisitions, including AIA documentation (G702/G703)
• Coordinate construction draw submissions and maintain relationships with lenders and financial institutions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for project entities
• Monitor project budgets, job costs, cash flow, and funding activity across multiple developments
• Partner closely with project management, ownership, and external construction teams to support financial oversight and reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis throughout the lifecycle of development projects
• Support process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within construction, development, or project accounting
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and construction cost tracking
• Experience reviewing construction requisitions and AIA billing forms (G702/G703)
• Background working with owners, developers, general contractors, or related real estate organizations preferred
• Exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as Yardi is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
