Position Details

The School Based Clinician II is a licensed mental health professional who provides evidence-based services in high-need K–12 schools, including prevention-focused mental health skill building, individual and small group treatment, educator consultation, and workshops for caregivers and educators. Working in close collaboration with school partners, the Clinician II meaningfully contributes in promoting student well-being and supporting the integration of sustainable mental health practices within the school community. In addition, the Clinician II may oversee and mentor pre-licensure clinicians or interns, contributing to their professional development and adherence to clinical best practices.

Reporting to the Director of School-based Services, this is a full time, exempt and hybrid position ( 4 days in schools, 1 day remote).

You Will

  • Provide individual, group, and classroom-based mental health services, meeting established service goals with evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions.
  • Conduct student and caregiver assessments to determine program eligibility and set treatment goals and administer validated measures for outcome monitoring and program evaluation purposes
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment, offering consultation to school partners as needed and being available for peer consultation within the clinical team.
  • Create and deliver presentations to caregiver and educator audiences on various mental health topics.
  • Consult with educators and staff to recommend strategies that reduce symptoms and promote supportive learning environments.
  • Complete clinical documentation including intake evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner.
  • Provide supervision to interns and pre-licensed clinicians as needed by the role, in accordance with agency guidelines and clinical capacity.
  • Collaborate on program development and content creation, designing student-centered, culturally responsive, evidence-based interventions.


You Have

  • Master's degree from an accredited program in social work, psychology, clinical counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice in California or New York (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or licensed psychologist).
  • At least 5 years of experience providing mental health services in school, community, or nonprofit settings.
  • Experience supervising trainees or pre-licensure clinicians.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with schools, families, and community partners to support student well-being.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
