Pattern Maker
Talent Consultants is seeking a skilled and creative Pattern Maker to join our client's design team. As a Pattern Maker, you will play a crucial role in the development of garments, translating design concepts into three-dimensional patterns that can be used for production. Your expertise in fabric manipulation and understanding of sewing techniques will ensure that the design intent is captured accurately in the final product. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers and production teams to deliver high-quality patterns efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret design sketches and technical specifications to create accurate patterns for various metal pattern types.
- Use both hand-drawing and computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop patterns.
- Plan, layout and perform a wide variety of extremely complex and difficult hand finishing operations on rough castings of complicated forms to be used as patterns, core boxes and permanent molds.
- Make build-ups or fabricate patterns, core boxes and permanent molds made of various materials.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to patterns based on feedback from design and fitting sessions.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless transitions from patterns to finished garments.
- Maintain pattern storage and documentation for efficiency and reference purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in pattern making and garment construction.
- Collaborate with fabric suppliers to choose appropriate materials for each design.
Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years Journeyman-level Patternmaker experience OR Journeyman license
- Proven experience as a Pattern Maker.
- Experience setting up, programming and operating CNC machinery
- Experience with Solids Works and Master Cam
- Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, garment construction, and fashion design principles.
- Proficient in pattern making software (e.g., Gerber, Optitex) as well as traditional hand-drawing techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think creatively.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 1st Shift. The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- A minimum of 4 years of metal pattern making experience
Experience with SolidWorks and MasterCam
Experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery
