Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Tele Job
Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele) for a travel assignment in Massena, New York. Start date: 06/01/2026. Duration: several weeks. Weekly pay: $1,784–$1,897 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: 3x12 Days. Unit serves adults and geriatrics in a Critical Access Hospital setting. - Unit/Setting: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry in a Critical Access Hospital Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric MS/Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond to dysrhythmias; participate in rapid response and code events
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy; start/maintain peripheral lines and manage blood products as ordered
- Support respiratory needs with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen therapy; assist with non-invasive airway management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary) to develop and execute care plans
- Document patient care in the Epic charting system; monitor for changes in condition and adjust care accordingly
- Manage common diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, chest pain rule-out, and non-specific abdominal pain per unit protocols
- Maintain isolation precautions and PPE usage; adhere to wound care and postop care protocols as applicable Requirements
- Active NY RN license in-hand to submit
- Minimum 2 years RN experience (travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Telemetry monitoring experience with rhythm interpretation; IV start/maintenance; blood product administration
- Ability to float within the MS/Tele unit as needed; adequate clinical judgment for adult-geriatric care
- Distance/local policy: local candidates must be >50 miles away; candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program Benefits and Support
